3D scanning and reverse engineering

3D scanning of objects is a technique, which allows us non-contact, high speed and accurate digitalization of physical objects regardless what material they are of. The procedure is performed by professional scanner ATOS Core – using structured blue light technology and two cameras of high-resolution to capture data of the shape of an actual object no matter how complex the shape is.

The results are processed with ATOS software to obtain a polygonised mesh. We deliver the final data in many various formats such as STL, IGES or G3D.

Advantages of 3D scanning:

Non-contact and high performance: up to 0.005 mm. Due to the large amount of captured data, the scanning provides an accurate shot of the product’s shape, allowing for an accurate digital copy.

Speed: relatively fast and simple procedure allowing speedy digitalization of different objects.

Scanning of various sized objects: from few millimetres to few metres.

Flexible use: portable system is used in our premisses as well as in the field.

Diverse usage of scanning

we use 3D scanning for:

  - Quality control: comparison of the real object with its 3D model shows us product deviations from wanted state due to overflows, deformations or bad performance.

  - Measurements: measurement protocols.

  - Reverse engineering: is the process of the shape measuring and reconstruction of its 3D model. The high accuracy enables to create a precise digital model for further use in production, when there is no tool or product documentation as well as for creation or repair of unique objects.


 

3D scanning is advanced technology with various useful applications. It ensures us accurate object shape data and speedy digitalization, that allows simple ways of use in a variety of applications.
